Dogs never really liked me much. My sister always had/ has really sweet german shepherds, and one of them liked me... the others have all been indifferent or hostile toward me.

Ramsus- Do you have a cat?

I've never not had cats. My first word was meow, and as a toddler I rejected humans and instead attempted to bond with the cats we had.

I had the smartest damn cat ever from my childhood until a couple of years ago. Now I just have two ordinary cats.. one was a stray who I swear has autism. The idiot probably gave himself brain damage by running into doors and walls constantly when younger. He actually put a hole in the wall and was constantly knocking doors off the hinges.. with his head.

Cats are very smart. They out performed dogs in almost every mental test. Problem solving, visual memory, overall memory, etc. And yes, but any pet can adapt to get along with humans.

Though their brains are physically smaller, they use far less of their brain to control their bodies. It's called the brain:spinal cord ratio and it helps determine just how much of an animal's brain is used for intelligent operation.
