I agree with this. But unless you're only on specific websites which are appealing to your country, isn't this sort of the norm? It feels the norm to me.

Not sure what nationality you are or how common people of your nationality are on the site but we have a UK/England thread in random :) Which I've found can be a place to speak about Scottish things too.

If there are enough people from your country on here, it might be worth putting something like that out there.

Imagine that disturbing moment when you realize you have the same nickname as Facebook.

Could be worse.

You could've been named "Wilma Theodore Ferguson".

I think there are four of us here from my country who are somewhat active, or at least were in the spring when I was last active here, so...

Guys, am I missing something with this name stuff :?:

I just saw a post on another autism website that mentioned Canada and North America as if they were two separate places instead of Canada actually being IN North America.

They might as well have mentioned Canadians living in igloos and eating blubber while pushing our dog sleds on our way to the maple syrup factory.

Like Johnny Bravo's mother said when they moved to Canada

"Canada is famous for all kinds of things! Hockey, fat bacon, hockey, and my favorite... free health care!"

...I thought it was funny.

Marilyn Monroe once said "when they said 'Canada' I thought it would be in the woods somewhere".

And Al Capone once said "I don't even know what street Canada is on!".

I haven’t had that problem on here, but some people have told me my way of spelling certain words was wrong, and corrected me. I only thought it was funny.

I usually use the American versions of words when there are different words that mean the same thing when I talk to people from there because I don’t always realise the version I use isn’t used there, and I have confused people a few times. Sometimes I use both words with “/“ between them.

I’ve replaced “That’s okay” with “you’re welcome” when I reply to posts or messages from anyone except family.

I'm a Non-American and I don't have any issues understanding the things that the majority of WPers talk about.

I find that for someone in the UK i could suggest getting mefical help as we have the NHS and you can just book a free appointment to see a dr.

I worry about my American friends on here. I know people who are in serious need of support. I have no idea how American healthcare works. I feel callous saying you need to see a medical specialist when they may not be able to afford it.

At least you show concern about it and aren't putting us down for it like some people from outside countries I know tend to do. :P

Speaking of which, I had found a really good bipolar medication called Vraylar and I had to quit taking it because my Medicaid insurance doesn't cover it. They switched me to Abilify and it doesn't even work as good. Yeah go figure. :?

I feel like this about the whole internet. When I go on to Play Store to download a game into my phone, it's always American, and when it suggests I pay for help in a game it always says dollars. I don't pay money to receive extra points or hints in an online game, but even if I wanted to I would be confused because my currency is pounds, not dollars.

Also when I watch American vlogs on YouTube, I find most Americans repeat themselves over and over and just don't get to the point. For example, a mother vlogging a trip to the supermarket in her car with her kids:-
"OK so we are on our way to the grocery store right now, um, and it's 10 in the morning, and, um, we are going to do a little grocery shopping, get some groceries, you know like, um, bread, juice, um, bread and juice and, um, potato chips for the kids, oh and candy because they like to have like a candy bar or something, a candy bar each, or chocolate, after we done our grocery shopping, and....."
Uh, just stop going round and round in circles with your joyous American accent in your Walmart stores!! !! !!

I prefer watching England vlogs because it's all like, "hi YouTubers! I am off to Tesco for shopping with my kids, going to buy crisps, milk, bread, oh the kids can have sweets if they be good."
