Yes, I've read about how some hand gestures that are perfectly acceptable in Canada and the US are considered obscene or highly insulting in other parts of the world in one of my Worst Case Scenario books. Especially the one that normally means "OK". And nodding your head up-and-down means "no" instead of "yes" in some places.

I once had an Alf comic that explains that on Melmac, throwing cleaned bones over your right shoulder means, "I enjoyed the meal very much, thank you." Throwing them over your left shoulder means "Your wife and daughters are Bowzers and I challenge you to a duel". Obviously, you do not want to do the latter. :lol:
