*hordes cute puppy all to himself* The only reason I chose the boy over his sister is the fact that he was nicer to me and didn't bark as much :D

I chose puppy because we already have two cats and I don't know how they'll react to a puppy.

I had a German Shepherd. He was my first dog (rather than belonging to my parents). We used to walk miles around the countryside together exploring. Lovely dog, I had him from a pup until he died young (only nine), he was a lot like me in temperament (a big softie) and used to run up to other dogs, which scared the owners sometimes, but it was only to make friends, wag his tail and sniff the other dog.

The only bad thing about his was he liked to roll in anything disgusting he could find. On one occasion he found a hedgehog that had rotted down to a sort of putrid jelly and had a good roll in it. He smelled absolutely rank :eew: I was nearly sick taking him home on the lead where he got a good wash with the hose pipe. I miss him :( I've got a Labrador now - entirely different personality.

german shephards are awesome when theyre fully grown especially...would have one to if am could cope with barks and was allowed one.
at least with a pup will know its background unlike if had got an older one from a sanctuary.
