I have moments where the moment I experience feels familiar and yet I have a hard time placing where I've seen it before. The moments themselves are random and insignificant. I think I see them in my dreams and then forget about them only for them to come as a shock when it actually happens.

I don't generally get Deja Vu, I do have recurrent issues with recollective confabulation though. Basically I'll have the sensation that new things are new when they're happening. But, when I remember them, it will feel like something that has happened many times before. I think my brain just does so much work to make things a part of a pattern to squeeze as much into my head as possible, that it doesn't bother to record new memories as being new and not part of a wider pattern.

Déjà vu is the phenomenon of feeling as though one has lived through the present situation before. It is an illusion of memory whereby—despite a strong sense of recollection—the time, place, and context of the "previous" experience are uncertain or impossible.

Not an actual memory. Just the feeling that it's a memory, when it's not.

(This is a response to the thread, not anyone in particular.)

I get this all the time. Almost every day I start thinking "has this happened before?"

that's exactly what happens to me! Except when when it happens, I remember the moment in the dream, and sometimes a little bit of the dream itself.

too many times to list, one major one was in my early 20s, i was working in a surplus store when i had a clear mental image of the room and work desk i would be around in my next job, and sure enough- 3 months later, i was at that very spot in my new employer's building.
