There's no sleep to compare with that one.

It's just an extended power nap.

I often experience two four-hour sleep cycles. This is most often to get a drink of water.

Whether or not specific sleep-cycles can be correlated to the Autism Spectrum is still uncertain.

<--- Sigh. Suffers from sleep apnea, so barely gets any shuteye at all. Always weary during the day, it's a surprise he can get any writing done.

Uncertain? Unlikely to be any correlation at all.

New York Times Book Review mentions Edison's sleep habits:

Exploring the Necessity and Virtue of Sleep.

I useta sleep around the clock like a baby. up to 14 hours a day. then as middle age set in, i'd sleep a more or less normal amount with one daily nap, but the timing of my biorhythms would slide around the clock to where it'd make a full revolution about once every 18 days or so, meaning i'd sleep only about 2 times per month at the very same time.

I always wanted to try that sleep pattern, but it's difficult with a job. I always feel really great after a four-hour sleep, but then I never have time for the second one, and I'm dead about eight hours after waking.
