I feel like this about the whole internet. When I go on to Play Store to download a game into my phone, it's always American, and when it suggests I pay for help in a game it always says dollars. I don't pay money to receive extra points or hints in an online game, but even if I wanted to I would be confused because my currency is pounds, not dollars.

Also when I watch American vlogs on YouTube, I find most Americans repeat themselves over and over and just don't get to the point. For example, a mother vlogging a trip to the supermarket in her car with her kids:-
"OK so we are on our way to the grocery store right now, um, and it's 10 in the morning, and, um, we are going to do a little grocery shopping, get some groceries, you know like, um, bread, juice, um, bread and juice and, um, potato chips for the kids, oh and candy because they like to have like a candy bar or something, a candy bar each, or chocolate, after we done our grocery shopping, and....."
Uh, just stop going round and round in circles with your joyous American accent in your Walmart stores!! ! ! ! !

I prefer watching England vlogs because it's all like, "hi YouTubers! I am off to Tesco for shopping with my kids, going to buy crisps, milk, bread, oh the kids can have sweets if they be good."

We rarely sound joyous in the UK, never when food shopping. Listening to happy sounding people takes some getting used to.

Sorry, please don't take it personally. But Aspies are always saying they like honesty, so I'm just saying, in an honest manner, what I think when I see American vlogs. But the thing about Americans repeating themselves over or adding extra words into their sentences that aren't needed, is true. Americans don't repeat themselves like that in online posts, but in real life they do.

One time I was watching a YouTube video of an American man ranting about kids in a restaurant, and he said, "I hate it when I go into a restaurant and some woman should have gotten a babysitter for her kid or some guy should have gotten a babysitter for his kid..." I mean, why say both the female and male alternatives into the sentence, instead of just saying, "I hate it when I go into a restaurant and some mother or father should have got a babysitter for their kid"? Americans do have a habit of going all around the houses when speaking, maybe they don't when talking to each other, but they do in vlogs.

I guess as an American I'm guilty of that too. But since I live in a region that always gets mocked for our exaggerated drawl and using words like "Ya'll" all the time I really don't judge how other people speak. :P

Well I'm guilty of speaking in cockney, which might annoy some Americans.
I have a habit of saying "innit" and "flippin' 'ell".

It doesn't annoy me at all, in fact I think it sounds kind of warm and relaxing.

I was thinking more Holly Hunter or Juliette Lewis. I haven't seen the GG for a long time and I can now see why a certain user here picked her user name

Yeah Bea Arthur was great as Dorothy.

And once again I apologize if what I said about London accents was offensive. :(

Good, but I already edited my post.

I felt like a hypocrite saying I don't judge how other people speak and then saying something negative about how I think people from London sound. Plus I've never actually met anybody from London I've only heard their accents on TV shows and movies and I bet a lot of it is exaggerated.

Actually I do wonder if the way I phrase things is easily understood by non Brits. The syntax of what i write may be weird, even to Southerners.

At least I'm not throwing in colloquialisms like greeting you all with "Ayup! How's you?" Like I would in real life.

I have to admit that when it comes to the "cockney" accent I really can't understand what most of the words mean. Like in the movie "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" I think Mrs. Lovett spoke with that kind of accent and often times it was hard for me to understand what she was saying.

The actress Helena Bonham Carter is actually from the UK. I wonder if that was her real accent?
