I don't need a new OS, XP works fine for me.

No, I want a computer that works, Vista doesn't offer that.

Some recent Slashdot coverage:

The first article includes some posts by ATI and nVidia programmers frustrated with the hurdles MS has put in front of them, resulting in sub-standard drivers at release.

Oh, the naivety... I'm beginning to doubt my self diagnosis of Aspergers very much. You all seem content with just saying "because some people have had problems with Vista, that means I'll have problems!". Well, I took the risk and upgraded my system, and I haven't regretted it at all. It's great, I'd recommend it for anyone. It's so, so stupid the way you've all read that Vista has a few problems, and decided not to take the plunge based on that alone. It's almost like a petty attempt to cover up the fact that you just can't afford Vista. You're all completely oblivious to the advantages Vista has over XP, some of the features are just incredible. I've been using Vista on my computer for less than a day, and I already can't stand the XP computers at school. They feel primitive in comparison. It's the same as when someone said earlier, that the 360 is "just most of the new features they added where things that people did when modifying their original xboxes". That's dumb. People didn't add the new Xbox Live network did they?? The tri-core processor? The next gen graphics??? The new RAM? The wireless controllers? The HD output?? did they?? Nope. You just haven't played a 360, can't afford one or are too stupid to understand it's features. I really, really pity you all. I don't want to offend, but if all people were aspies, we'd still be living in the stone age. Seriously, take a risk once in a while, hiding behind a shield of ignorance won't get you far.

Alright then iddqd, I'll say it. I bloody well cannot afford Vister, and I'm stupidly happy with my dino-pc which runs Win2k. There, someone said it. I think Vister is bullocks.

Oh, the naivety...

Have you ever thought about the advantages of OS X? Because frankly, I've played around with Vista, and it feels primitive in comparison. I really, really pity you. Seriously, take a risk once in a while. Hiding behind a shield of ignorance won't get you far.

I had problems getting even universal human interface devices recognized by practically any OS that works with USB to be recognized by Vista. That is more than enough to convince me the whole system is total crap. The new security was the most impressive feature and its too excessive and it can probably be easily bypassed by a hacker.

Sorry if I didn't explain myself better on this matter earlier. The new features I was referring to were mainly Aesthetic. Here's a short review of the ideas M$ "borrowed" from the xbox modding community-

-Wireless controller integration - I saw many mods to original xboxes with wireless connections wired inside so you wouldn't need external connections to do wireless
-VGA video connection - I installed one of these on my own modded xbox.
-Faceplates - I've seen so many paint jobs and replacement cases for xboxes, M$ took that and made it easier to change the look.
-Dashboard enhancements - xbox modders made many replacement dashboards, with the same features I've seen in the 360 dashboard.

HD output isn't new on the 360, better antialiasing at high resolutions is.

I used to be assistant manager at a video game store. I spent a lot of time with the xbox and the 360. I've done a lot of research on both. The reason I don't own a 360 is not due to monetary concerns. I think playing games is about game play, not graphics. I'd buy a Wii if I could find one and didn't have a huge stack of RPGs that I'm already working on.

If you want to know why I use Linux and not Windows, take a look at my blog. I wrote an article on there about it a few days ago.
