Kinda weird the OP didn't mention the Oklahoma City Bombing in his initial post even though it was probably the biggest news-story that year. But then again his location says he lives in a meth-lab. :wall:

Well, I wasn't alive in 1995 so I don't remember it and it dosen't really get as much coverage as 9/11 does these days, though I am aware of the events of Oklahoma City, it didn't cross my mind when I made this thread.

By the way, living in a meth-lab with TREVOR is pretty freaking sweet.

Oh okay, I guess you hadn't even been born yet then, but nobody else mentioned the Oklahoma City Bombing in this thread either. Just goes to show how much the general-public really cares about major-disasters like that despite what they try to say to the contrary. :?

If I woke up and discovered that it was still 1995, I'd spend the day making plans to avert the many mistakes I made in the ensuing years, and to promote and cultivate the good things I discovered in life!

Another thing I'd do is wait 4 years & then Party Like It's 1999.

I don't know about going back to 1995. That's smack in the middle of my first lost decade. It'd be me not finding my way all over again.

Still, I'd be younger so maybe I'd make less mistakes. Now, if I went back and was straight and didn't have autism, that would be sweet.

I wouldn't be able to download TV shows or music from various nefarious websites, I'd either record them off of 5-channel analog TV via a videoplus code (or the automatic timer) onto a vhs, or goto Virgin and buy it on a C90, and shove it into a sony walkman.

chances are, it would only have been the simpsons.

i'd re-discover my love of recording sounds off the telly and screwing with it in windows sound recorder :D

i'd be outside quite a lot on my bike, or wandering around while wondering why i didn't have any friends like other people my age - so i'd head indoors when it got dark...
i'd be using AOLs ISP/browser... Win 95, 800MHz Cyrix Mk2 CPU, 32meg ram, 8meg video card, twin speed CD-rom, and a 16-bit stereo sound card!
i searched for stuff using altavista or lycos... i think....
i played quite a lot of disney-adventure-type games - but that may have been towards 1997/8
or my 48k ZX S :)

I'd backup all ~5 megs of my PC files onto a cartridge tape in an aiwa tape drive which took a very long time indeed.

and i'd probably download bonzibuddy again.. 8O

they only thing that hasn't changed is that i play lots of solitaire... :D

I probably would've tried to go to Japan that year. In January of that year, the great Hanshin earthquake struck.

I'd go back to college to take the classes I wanted to take that would lead to a career instead of staying in a dead end job at a factory.

Another thing: I would try and tell my 8-year old self some things that will make me rich in my adult years. Namely who will win the ensuing Super Bowls, World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, Grey Cup games, and NBA Finals.

I would tell people to sell their NORTEL stocks while they are above $100 and to then invest the money in RIM only to sell that the day Apple announces the iPhone..

I'd enjoy it all as much as possible before everything went downhill. I bet I'd fit in a lot better, I get told all the time I have an old soul. 90s were cool from what I can remember.

I’m not quite sure how I’d react. I would probably confuse my parents since I would act more cynical and paranoid than usual; hopefully, that would lead to me getting more therapy in my life. I might try socializing a bit more since my lack of a social circle has made my life miserable, but since my street smarts are still lacking, I might end up befriending the wrong kinds of people and become even more of a delinquent than I am now. I might try becoming a more diligent student so that being prepared and organized become ingrained habits, but I might get bored quickly and either refresh my memories of all the pop culture I liked since 1995 (which is mostly cartoons) or learn about completely new pop culture to expand my tastes. I might also try exercising more, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy it enough to make it part of a daily routine.

If I was the same age I am now, I'd probably crank up some Nirvana or Alice in Chains, play Super Metroid, and generally just have a blast. The 90's may seem low-tech by our standards, but they were pretty much my favorite decade for music and video games. :D Shame I was too young to really appreciate those things back then.
