I once met former governors Pete Wilson and Gray Davis during their terms as governor of California. Wilson's wife was also nice, they were at a Labor Day function my high school band performed at, and she felt bad for us in our uniforms as it was pretty hot.

I also met Neil Patrick Harris briefly at a restaruant in LA after a group of us went to his last show taping.

I've met:
Various 80's metal band rockers,
Graham Kerr (original galloping gourmet dude),
Actor Fred Willard (appeared in Movie Spinal Tap and TV show Fernwood 2 Nite),
and most of all, the 60's icon group THE TURTLES!

I've met Hilary Clinton. Had my photo of my family taken with her.

My mom met Magic Johnson, well talked to him on the phone and didn't know why he was famous. And thanks to me, she met Bill Clinton. I was doing some tech support, and I got a call, forwarded to my mom at work, and she was on her way. I did see him, and damn it was inspiring. A few years ago, my dad met H Carl McCall, who is now the former New York State comptroller. My dad works for the state, so one week he got screwed over on his paycheck, called his offices, and actually managed to talk with him and correct the problem, and I think meet him. I know my mom worked on his campaign, and I met the Attorney General of New York State, Elliot Spitzer. Nice man.

I'm definitely in the UK.

The most famous person I have ever met and talked to is Douglas Bader.

If everyone says "who?" I'll know I'm getting old, but that's another thread.
We shared a waiting room an Harley Street while I was waiting for an eye operation at the age of 19.

After that, Baroness Shirley Williams, in Cambridge, for a political chat.

More locally, Liza Goddard (actress, presenter) gave me five minutes of TV fame by interviewing me in my garden, which was part of a charity open day, for her series "Liza's country".

I've tested the eyes of John Craven, of "Newsround" fame,
Ian Lavender, "Pike" of Dad's Army,
and Bill Treacher, Eastenders Arthur Fowler.

The only famous person I met was Peter Schickele, the eminent (?) musicologist and scholar of the 22nd of Johann Sebastian Bach's 21 sons, PDQ Bach. He's just as strange in person as he is during his act.

I worked security for a Las Vegas casino about 8 or 9 years ago. I got to be a security escort for a lot of different celebrities. Some of them were Walter Cronkite, Joe Montana, Brian May (guitarist for Queen), and Michael Moore. Also met Ron Jeremy and Erik Estrada at the Billboard Music Awards one year.

I met Jesus once.

Oh wait that was an actor who played Jesus.

Unfortunately I have not had the chance to meet someone famous yet.

I have seen Richard Dreyfuss in a live play, in a small theatre (so up pretty close) in my local town (UK) - I didn't meet him, but my ex-landlady who is an actress and was in the same play, got his autograph for me (kind, but it wasn't as if I was a fan!).

I saw The Queen in a car going past when she visited my suburb as a child, again didn't meet her though.

A girl I used to work with told me she met Robin Williams in an art gallery once and spoke to him.

That's about as ambitious as it gets for me!

My best friend used to work for BA at Gatwick in the special services lounge. She met and escorted quite a number of famous people, including Janet Jackson.

Yes, I've met Guns N Roses before they were famous in concert at CBGB's. In social events and/or working projects I've also met former Mrs. Wildensteen (lion woman), Daryl Hannah, David Bowie and Iman, David Dinkins, Armand Assanti, Nichol Williamson, Nile Rogers, Journey, David Lee Roth, Iggy Pop, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), B-52's, Cyndi Lauper, Ashford & Simpson. I have been at an event with the Dalai Lama and Harrison Ford but I did not actually meet them, but it really was nice to be in close proximity to HF :-)

My first meet of a famous person was when I was 13. I was working as cashier at a farm stand and the lead singer of Air Supply came in asking for directions to the Westbury Music Fair. Unfortunately I could not help him. I asked him if he was going to a show there, and he said he was playing in the show. I asked who he was, and he told me, to which I was extremely embarrassed for not recognizing him (but what else is new) LOL

I met Michael Vick. He was much nicer than expected, he smiled and tapped me on the head.

I met Hulk Hogan but I was asleep. Mom was carrying me out of a restaurant to the car and we ran into him. I was there at least.

Richard Thomas--John Boy from the Waltons--was sitting in front of me at a college theatre competition. He was the guest of honor. My stomach was gurgly from too much pizza and beer and he turned around and gave me a dirty look. I looked at the guy sitting next to me like it was his stomach that was gurgling.

Alex Chilton ("The Letter" song) pushed me down. :x I was walking into a club behind my very chatty friend and she stopped in the middle of the entryway to talk to someone. It was very narrow and I couldn't get by. He just shoved me to the side and blew right past me.

I met Robin Pecknold, Casey Wescott and the stand-up bass player/woodwind player whose name escapes me from the Fleet Foxes  a couple of years ago after they played here. They were extremely kind and patient, considering how long they'd been on tour and how tired they must've all been. Casey was especially friendly. :D

(I almost forgot--I used to see Mother Angelica on a daily basis at work before the nuns moved away  and John Cardinal O'Connor came by the network once, and Jim Caveizel, but I didn't want to stay late so I left before I got to meet him.)
