I dislike telling people I don't drink because I assume they infer from that that I'm a recovering alcoholic. They never ask why and to offer up the information unprompted seems weird too.

Edited to add: I don't mean to suggest there's anything wrong with being a recovering alcoholic, just that i dislike the awkwardness that follows when I have to tell people I don't drink and the awkwardness seems to stem from that assumption.

My family originated from the Alsace-Lorraine region on the border between France and Germany. I've never been to see it but badly want to see where my family originated from one day!
