I came down with the flu on Friday, as did my daughter. By yesterday she started to feel better but I took a quick turn in the other direction. My breathing is getting worse and this morning I passed out. I tried to take a bath last night for the muscle aches but it didn't do much good. So I'm off to the hospital . Will update when I get back.

Update - So there's good news and there's bad news.

The good news is that I'm home *phew*

The not so great news - After 12 rounds of oral inhalers (in less an hour) and a round of steriods, it took me 3 tries to barely pass the oxygen test. The verdict is that I have a severe case of the flu and also my entire upper respiratory system is infected. But the weird thing is that it's NOT viral. So they don't know how I contracted it, or exactly what it is, but it has spread. So I am on 4 kinds of medications and it will be 5 days before I start showing signs of improvement. My stats were weak when I left so I'm to stay in bed, and not exert myself at all because my lungs aren't very strong right now. The nice big dose of steriods I'll be on are most likely going to be causing some confusion. But that's what they need to get rid of the infection. The problem with the steriods is that the dose is so high, I get severe tremors and it looks like i'm convulsing. I had an episode in the hospital and the nurses kept trying to wrap warm blankets around me but it didn't work. I have to see my GP in 2 days to check on my progress but if I show signs of breathing issues again I'm supposed to be fast tracked through ER immediately.

So there you have it. I'm one sick girl, but at least I'm home in bed. My main concern right now is that my lungs stay open. My ex is taking the week off work to take care of the kids because I will be in bed for the rest of the week.

Thank you for the good wishes. You guys are awesome. 8)

I had the flu a few months ago, it was terrible. No passing out, though, so yours is probably worse 8O

Hope you feel better soon :(

Strange, I've never had the flue as far as I know, doesn't sound very fun though.

Get better soon CG. Krya på dig. ;)
