I'm tired of seeing posts saying "I've got *insert number* posts today", so let's put it in one spot.
I have nothing special right now, but I'll let you know!

This isn't going to work as people want attention for their post count.

I don't really understand the big deal about post count....it would be very easy to rack up numbers alone by indiscriminately joining in regardless of the value of your input- empty vessels and all that*

* I just realised that sums up not only the bulk of human interaction, but indeed my response. :oops:

Birthday threads are equally annoying.

At the time of this writing there are 29,766 members on WrongPlanet. I don't have any accurate estimate of who many are actually active, but if everybody would create a new thread on their birthday, we'd have an average of ca. 81 new threads every day throughout the year (given that the member count doesn't fluctuate). That's ca. 3 every hour.

If 1500 are active (which i suppose is a good estimate), we'd have ca. 4 new birthday threads every single day.

If 1500 members would create a new thread every time they round another 1000 posts and everybody post an average of 10 posts a day, we'd have an average of 15 new post count threads every day.

Those kinds of threads are shameless and abuse the board. This is why I support this thread.
