Anyone use snus?

I first tried the Camel Snus which is mini white portion, 8mg nicotine. Not very strong, but sweet and pleasant. Then I decided to try Swedish snus, so I ordered Skruf Original Portion, General Onyx, and 02 Strong Portion. I haven't gotten to the last two yet, but I will be trying the Onyx later today.

My review of the Skruf: Well, it's not what I was expecting, but it's not bad. 9mg of nicotine in this, and since it's not mini white portion it's larger, like a dip pouche; very moist. Maybe a little too salty for me, but I like the note of bergamot. Not a very pleasant smell, though. I may not order this kind again, or I may try the Skruf Stark.

Any recommendations?

I tried some that was either of Danish or Swedish origin. I think it's even worse than chewing tobacco because I hate stuff going up my nose.

Snuff goes in the nose. Snus goes under the lip, and it's spit-free.

Well, snus is probably the "safest" way to use tobacco out of them all. You'd have to use the body weight of a small car per day to get the amount of cancerous nitrosamines that cigarettes have. So, I think it's definitely a good alternative to smoking. Of course, the smart move is to not use tobacco at all, but if you're going to it's the "healthier" way.

A recent survey in Norway showed that there's no link between cancer in the mouth and the use of snus. Of course you get all the negative effects that you'd get from anything with nicotine, but it's still much less harmfull than cigarettes.

I can recomend General Snus—if it's sold in the US, that is...

I use it from time to time. I only use it when I know I won't be able to have a cigar for a really long time (though one or two cigars a day is all you should use anyway if you smoke them). My favourite flavour of Camel SNUS was Frost. Being deployed I haven't heard much about it, but I have heard that Obama is getting all flavoured tobacco made illegal (including snus). Not all that healthy, but if you are gonna use tobacco, the best way to go.

I've had the Camel Frost Snus. Tastes exactly like the cigarette.

Bumping this thread - I am also a snus user. I used to smoke almost a pack a day, and in combination with an e cig, I now go days at a time without smoking and only do so on a social basis these days or if something really pisses me off. For all you smokers on the spectrum, this is the way to quit IMO. I know we all hate change, and as such this is much easier than going cold turkey. Nicotine by itself isn't particularly bad for you, it's the smoke! As bad as this may sound, tobacco/nicotine products are one of my "special interests" as well.
