I hope that I am right in assuming that aspies don't tend to be as squeamish as the people on some other forums, so I'm asking this here. I don't wish to offend anyone, but am basically trying to find a group of pragmatic UK residents who know about funerals.

I'm trying to make sure that I've documented all my affairs, and made sure that everything is paid for, so that if I'm pancaked by a bus, it's all sorted.
I've tried calling the Coop, and the cheapest funeral, including cremation fees for Surrey, is over £2k. This is ridiculous. I am just looking for something that will collect the body from the house/road/morgue, take it to the crematorium, and cremate it. I don't want a fancy coffin(any container/wrapping will do for transport purposes), I don't want a limo(any vehicle will do-stick me out of a sidecar on a bike for all I care), I don't want a service. So I understand that the crematorium will cost under £500, but why can't I get my body to there for less than £1.5k?

Does anyone know of a way of doing this, without involving friends/acquaintances, but as a service that is bought? Thank you.
