How to clean lens cloth?

Any ideas? Soap and water has not helped me; now, my lens cloth just makes my glasses even more smudged than before.

Washing-up liquid (the one you use to wash your dishes), vinegar or lemon juice.
Soap won't work. Soap is made of fats - and fat stays on glass. You need something that destroys fat.

I just toss them in the wash.

You could try washing it with something like glass cleaner.

What smell?
If you use enough water after cleaning it with those stuff there won't be much smell left.
And I personally like the smell of vinegar and lemon.
