I've noticed this from one of my friends I speak to on AIM that she gets shy of creating new topics.
I'm pretty much the same at times on here and other forums and I'm wondering if anyone else here is like that aswell?

Nope. I am shy at asking certain questions to people in real life and so I ask them here.

I'm not, but I don't like to make too many in case I come across as spamming. One of the great things about socialising on the internet for me is that I don't get shy.

Yes I really do avoid it. There is many topics I could have created here out of some crappy AS events in my life this spring but I didnt do it....
but of course it depends on the theme of it then. Its more sensitive about stuff as I mentioned above but easier with totally nonsense topics

Not at all, but I don't make them often because I don't have anything in particular to ask or say.

I always am when I'm a new member of a community...mostly because I'm convinced there'll already be a thread for whatever I've got to say. I look back for pages and there's not, but I know there must be one lurking a few months back.

After a few weeks/months of being on every day, I'm fine and fairly comfortable in making a new thread in the knowledge there's not been one recently.

It's a similar thing for me, I've got to become comfortable in the community.

I'm usually not, because I know everybody here is understanding and can most likely relate to what I'm asking.

I am! I have to work up a lot of courage to post a new topic. When I finally do, it takes me about 45 minutes to create it, because I have to make sure it is absolutely perfect before I hit "submit".

I'm not shy about creating topics, but I don't like to make too many.

It takes me that long just to post a reply sometimes, if the reply is more than a few sentences. To post a new topic takes me well over an hour. It's really annoying. I wish I didn't have to be so perfect all the time and constantly edit myself. Even this reply has taken me 8 minutes so far and I'm still hitting "preview" and reading it over and over again, changing tiny details.

Normally when I'm making a most, it would take me forever, but this one didn't really take me that long, it only took me about 2 minutes, but only because I wanted to make it quick and simple.

I guess that in some way I am, as I haven't made a new topic of my own in quite a while. :?

If you didn't notice the OP, you certainly wouldn't of known I asked that question.
