Don't know if I could pick a top 5 if I really thought about it, but here are 5 movie characters that I enjoy without giving it too much thought:

Agent Smith - Matrix (love the monologue he has while Morpheus is all drugged up)

V - V for Vendetta

Andy Dufresne - Shawshank Redemption

Inigo Montoya - Princess Bride

Hannibal Lecter - Silence of the Lambs

The Joker (TDK)
Brian (FatF)
Jessie (FatF)
Dom (FatF)
Vince (FatF)

Probably would be a few less FatF characters if there were more ballsy possibly criminally insane characters in other movies I've watched. No matter how you spice up Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, Tom Cruise or any of the other action movie stars out there they just don't seem tough enough without becoming cheesy.

Raoul Duke is awesome, and so is Dr. Gonzo. 8) I almost put them on my list, but in the end I decided to put Edward Scissorhands and Mrs. Lovett instead.
