Why does no one bother to say "Wait a minute! What the hell? We stuff dead things into ourselves to survive. We use reproductive organs of plants as decorations. We derive pleasure from our pee-pees. We spend our lives doing things that we don't want to do, going to places we don't want to go, meeting people we don't want to meet. What for? What is the reason for all of this? Stop whatever you're doing, people! There's no point. We're all just a bunch of filthy lab rats in the research institute of life!"

Eating Dead things to survive : The people who were on earth first ate meat because it was natural we are carnivores.
Reproductive organs of plants as deocrations: I do not understand this my house does not have reproductive plant organs.
Derive pleasure from our pee pees: if you mean secks, then your kinda wrong because you would not be alive if nobody had secks. And if nobody had secks there would be no human existance.
Doing things you dont want to do: If you dont want to do it dont do it, I dont understand.

I'm solar powered. I use plants to trap the sun's light instead of doing it myself, which would require a lot of tedious standing around.

Organs which have specifically evolved as decorations. Admittedly, decorations for the benefit of insects and birds, but we might as well use them.

You're making a wee assumption there. But so what?

I don't. At least, not all the time. It's more the opposite. I don't do things I want to, I don't go to places I want to go, and I don't meet people I want to meet.

There need be no reason. Relax, if you can, and enjoy what good you can find.

Ambivalence broke it down nicely. The reason for doing all these thing is to have an enjoyable life. Ok- you may not enjoy sex, flowers and food, but I do. I do things I don't want to do/go places I don't want to go/ meet people I don't want to meet from time to time because that is a necessary part of (my) life. I could carefully engineer my life so I never had to do those things but that would be more bother than its worth (to me) and leave me with less time to stop and smell the plant organs.

If you want to stop stuffing dead things into yourself to survive, go ahead.

Are you trying to depress everyone?

Because our bodies and minds are designed to maintain stability, and pedantic ruminating is prevented by "normal people happy goggles". I want my happy goggles to work.

Because it makes life more interesting than the alternatives.

I feel that way all the time. We're all just cogs in this giant machine. When an individual doesn't make the machine work properly that person is labled as having a "disorder" and is hammered into place or thrown to the scrap heap. Most of us don't even know how this machine works. We don't know what happens out of our field of vision and therefore we inadvertantly cause so much. We're born into it - it is forced upon us when we're young and we either accept it unquestioningly, try to fit in, or accept the scrap heap. Free country? There is no freedom!

However, I do hope this alrighty if I first disagree with you Kat15. I believe the above quote is often an argument against vegetarianism which I do not quite understand. ^^ However, of course I wish not to imply that all individuals should live the way in which I do so, yet the following is merely happy reasoning for the way I enjoy living.

Firstly, I am not a carnivore. I have not eaten meat for approximately four years (although I am very naughty I believe and eat dairy and eggy products) and am alive and I believe I am not ill.

Second, I believe many humans seem to feel that the human species is a collective entity into which they are plugged. Whereas, I feel that a species is merely a classification, or label, that is provided to an individual based on certain characteristics that the individual has. If those classed as humans have eaten meat, this does not imply that I must do so. Also, it is most possible that these certain individuals may have died if they did not eat. However for me, this is unnecessary.

I am very sorry if I was horrible to you Kat15.

If you believe that you have not been created by any particular individual, for instance a deity, then I believe that certainly no individual could have determined a purpose for you. However, I believe that this does not matter. I believe that you may create your own purpose.

I believe that you have tried to remove context from pleasures, yet have left some context in some of your statements. For instance, within your post, you still imply that pee-pees are vulgar, so that deriving pleasure from them is also vulgar. But, why are they vulgar? If we consider this fundamentally, they are simply organs, yet controlling them in a certain way provides you with pleasure.

^^ However, I very much agree with you that considering the implications of what you do for pleasure is very important, in order to ensure that you are not causing suffering to others.

Humans are omnivores.
Plants are living things too, therefore vegetarians eat dead things as well - not that there's anything wrong with eating dead things.
