My brother has hands and arms? Thats crazy!

A few years ago I was sitting with my brother
In our parents backyard
He moved his hands
And for some reason I noticed
For the first time
My brother is a person
He has Arms and hands and a brain
So odd

That must have been shocking for you! How did you deal with it?

Before that he was my brother
He was a part of the human furniture in my world

I understand what you mean. It was as if you finaly realized that he's a true person with thoughts and desires, that he wasn't just there.

I think i understand what you mean countfred. I used to kinda think that others were kinda like robots or something that didn't really exist when I wasn't around. Not sure if this makes much sense

Usually at that moment is when friendships end
But it was my brother and I got over it and havent noticed since
I feel like in a sense I put people on pedestles
But more like in a box like a toy
And when I realize the toy isnt something to use and have
And that its made of parts and pieces
And can break and has a life of its own when I dont see it

I had a flash of Toy Story in my head
That these toys need care and attention to stay in good condition
And now to cross worlds from toys to people
These toys Are not toys
They are free willed emotional beings with problems and what not
I dont want those toys anymore
I want the new toy that does what I want it to
And the giant box that gets more use than the toy inside
Is my head I could play in that box all day
Until the thought monsters come out at night or whenever
Then that box needs to be shut
I use TV or stimulating games to keep my box taped shut so the monsters dont come out
When its safe I go back in to play
