the weather was perfect. cold enough to be refreshing but not painful, dry, not windy, bright but not squinty-sunny and enough snow left on the ground for it to look exciting

The virus in the avatar is my second attempt at rendering viral capsids in Chimera. The first one was a HIV capsid, but as I should have known, it is like a pine cone, not a d20, so that failed miserably. The capsid seems to resemble renderings by others, so it was not too bad for an attempt.
