Similar to that of facebook except you don't need to add anyone as a friend. Every time you go to the WP homepage, you will see the status updates of fellow WP-ers.

That sounds wonderful! The "random truth" thread already seems to fulfill that function for many of us, but it feels so... unofficial. I would very much like to have status updates become an official, integrated part of WrongPlanet.

That would be a wonderful idea.

Yes. I want to be informed when someone here is going to the grocery store, feeling depressed for reasons they refuse to explain to the many making sad face comments on their status, about to watch an evening drama, thinks their significant other is omg just the bestest for some undisclosed reason, etc.
Personally, I would have nothing to post about though. There are no more new episodes of Lost. . . Ah, I could post about being sad over that.

Now that I’m done being sarcastic, I don’t think it is such a terrible idea. I personally don’t care, but a lot of other people would probably really like it. It would be nice for a lot of people if WP had more personal and customizable profiles in general.

I agree with this. I would spend hours looking at and reading everyone's profiles.

We're completely upgrading Wrong Planet's forum software in the next couple of months so this will be a feature we can add after we convert the site to a newer, feature rich web platform.

We're planning to base the site on Invision Power Board. http://www.invisionpower.com/

You're wrong. vBulletin is outdated. IPB is superior.
