1890: 1890 was one of the last years that real men rode manly men's bicycles, and didn't dress like a hot pink and lime green spandex nightmare on wheels



1912: You see that? Knees, ladies? Very risqué, I must admit. Not that a gentleman such as myself would do anything but bequeath the highest praise upon your impeccable fashion sense, of course.




On a more serious note, it is quite remarkable how much change occurred in the time between 1868 and 1912. Even between 1890 and 1912, in some parts of the world, cars, household electricity, heavier-than-air flight... all of these things were becoming common simultaneously. It must have been an exciting time to live in, watching a whole new world grow before one's eyes- and many people born in the 1870s lived until the 1950s or 60s, perhaps a little later even- the fortune of watching a new age begin

1912 was the year Titanic sank and 100 years later the Titanic 3D movie is being released for it for the 100th anniversary of the ship sinking. Wow we have come a long ways in 100 years in technology and transportation and movies. Woops got off topic.

Personally I'm gonna say it had more in common with 1868 because it was still the Victorian era, also I think there was a great deal of electrification in the urban West between 1890 and 1912.
