Weird day at work today. It started yesterday evening, and since then I've done three jobs and gotten a few hours of sleep here and there. I somehow slept pretty well in the van for a hour or two here and there. I guess today's supervisor is on her maniac phase? She didn't yell and curse furiously about everything over the last 48 hours. When she doesn't act out like that, she's pretty pleasant.
We even had only two people counting this evening, rather than the three scheduled. We all just focused, and got busy with it. They called it the best inventory they ever had. She seemed justifiably pleased.
Things went differently this morning. The people at the gas station certainly had some moments where they looked askance at us. They really had no place to judge, what with their utterly jacked-up storage areas and filthy floors. Given the circumstance, tempers inevitably flared. The coworker who gave my supervisor problems rubs me the wrong way, too. She says meaningless things and expects a response, or asks questions to try to convey her dominance. It has no effect on me, because I have seen no reason to respect her. I'm glad it's getting through; I understand she felt the cruelty of some of my snappy answers to her stupid questions. Maybe she'll just do her job, instead of trying to foist it off on other people.
My other coworkers were a study in contrasts. Both hardworking fellows, on opposite ends of the talkative spectrum. We got the job done.
