So what is your preference? There can be many reasons I suppose. A shower can be convenient and quick but the purpose of the question is really about what would relax us more. For example, following stress or even a meltdown a shower might not be practical whereas a relaxing herbal bath would. I prefer a bath but I never stay in it long because it's boring, I just need to wash and get out. I remember as a kid I would not even get in and kneel by the side of the bath making splashing sounds with my hands so that Mum downstairs would think I was in the bath. Anyway, which do you prefer?

I loathe the idea of stewing in my own filth, so I shower

I prefer showering. Lying in bath doesn't relax me at all and I find it boring and time-wasting.

I shower first. :)

For relaxation, bath with a good book.

I do shower 3 times a day though:)

A shower in the morning and a bath in the evening.

Showers make you clean. So they are better for me. But I did used to enjoy a relaxing bath occasionally too, but I don't have a bath anymore.
If I ever had to have a bath for the sake of hygiene, it was pointless because I always had to shower after anyway, to rinse off all the grime that sits around in the tub.

Anyway, shower for me.

That's what I do too.
On very, very rare occasions I'll have a desire for a relaxing bath, but it's never as relaxing as I feel it should be. The back of the tub is cold to lean on. If I try to read the book gets wet. It's just more of a hassle.

You know, a lot of people say about a bath, it's laying in your own filth (as someone above put it), not so sure because I have such a huge bubble bath it really is squeaky clean, I bath twice a day so I'm hardly likely to be unclean, then again, I don't stay in too long, a friend I know, he can fall asleep in the bath!

in a bath, the water doesn't stay warm for long (at least to me)
in a shower, i constantly have to spin to maintain warmness all around me. gets me dizzy.

so...i really like neither....but if i have to choose...i choose shower....

Bath. :P I like a little luxury. ;P

Aside from that, my shower room is very poky and very dark, and this offends me. :P

Bath. It's directly opposite my bedroom plus my shower is in my parents room, a flight of stairs up.
And I can read textbooks without having to laminate each individual page.

I normally shower, but if I'm really tired or uncomfortable, I take a bath.

That's genius, never thought of that myself :)

3 times a day? I'm more of a "three times a week" kinda person (well, four, but still...)

I used to take baths, but I take showers now. Showers are more efficient and less boring than a bath. I don't think I've taken a bath in years.

A sub-topic for this could be talc, like years ago almost everyone used it after a bath, shower, swimming but these days I don't think people use body talc, it's deodorant city out there!
