I used to get candy & things when I was a kid but that stopped years ago. I'm going to my grandparents today for lunch & I'll see some of my relatives that I don't' see often but that's the only plans so for. I think Easter is to commercial & that the meaning is lost but I think that about all commercial holidays; Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day. I spent 2 years doing floor-cleaning at WalMart & worked both Easter nights. Spent both of mornings cleaning up around those isles. Store started putting it on sale around midnight because they didn't want to have any left over so isles were ransacked

I'm back from Easter lunch with the family. It went better then I expected. I was more talkative to some extent - though I still got that feeling of "he's a weirdo" from my cousin. Overall I'm happy it's over and I'm home :)

I'm cooking the leg of lamb right now. I didn't want to have ham this year. My fourteen year old son (the oldest) put together the green bean casserole and that's in the oven now, too. The mashed potatoes are in progress. I'm trying to think of what else I was going to make today. I think I was keeping it simple this year. But we're running out of milk, we're out of soda (caffeine!! !), we need real butter and we could use some juice choices so my husband won't be napping for too much longer.

The Easter service at church was really nice. There was an egg hunt afterward. The big kids got to hide the eggs while the little ones went off in search for them. The eggs are stuffed with candy but four eggs have a note to get a special gift from the rector. None of the kids care about the candy. They all want to find a special egg. lol

We were thinking about going to the beach but the Easter Bunny brought the kids Wii games so guess what they wanted to do with the day!! !

Nice. A week late for actual Passover, but still nice!

Did you know the idea of ham on Easter seems to have come from a tradition of killing and eating the boar that killed Nimrod, builder of Babel?

Just a tid-bit to consider for next year ...

Shalom

That is interesting. But, I'll tell you, if Goose wasn't so expensive, we'd be having it instead of ham. :)

Lunch was good but I was really glad to go back home when I did but I usually am. Racked some leaves & did a few other outside things this afternoon

Winding down this Easter holiday. Just got done watching The King's Speech with my husband. The kids are all in bed asleep because they go to school tomorrow. I really enjoyed the movie. I think it should've won more awards. And now I say Goodnight. :)

Oh how awful, hyperlexian. I'd never spent a holiday with my in-laws if I can help it. I can remember some truly awful experiences in the past. :(

I love being with my family for the Easter weekend but I come home worn out and in need of an energy drink and a big salad.

It's good that I have a family to go to. I really feel bad for my fellow WP members who don't have families to go to and I want to invite them all to be with my family on Easter and Christmas.

I generally like holidays, but Easter caught me by surprise this year. I forgot that it was this long  I would've acquired Dead Space 2 earlier and went to school to see if they have any used Philosophy 101 books on sale. Now all I've been able to do is stalk this board, go to the only store that's open in the whole city and play Lufia II.
