emotional?

I kind of feel like strong emotions cause more pain than they do happiness. A lot of people never get over the hardships of life and end up killing themselves. or worse, hurting other people. Of course having no emotions at all would suck as much or more, because then everyone would be hedonistic and apathetic and depressed and there wouldn't be any love.

would the world be better if we were like, 1/2 as emotional?

As a sensitive person who takes things to heart, I'd like to see more people showing their emotions. I feel like a fish out of water, sometimes.

Without emotion there is no meaning to life. You might as well be a vegetable.

im not asking if it would be better if people felt no emotion, im just asking would we be better off feeling less emotion than we do? Or could we use even more?

The world would be a better place if we all understood our emotions better, and used that understanding constructively to help ourselves (and each other) channel them appropriately.

Emotions are information.

Thanks. I've thought about it a lot.

I used to want to be an emotionless robot.

I recommend meditation for examination of one's emotions.

I think that the world needs to soften up and learn to be more tolerant of people who are more emotional than the average population.

What would be the use of that, then, if we were all softies?

I was just writing an essay on this in English class today. I definitely agree. Our emotions need to be turned down a lot. We would accomplish so much more.

Yeah, but why would we want to?

I've suffered from Anhedonia (temporarily, thankfully), and the only thing I wanted to do then was die.

There seems to be some misconception here. Irrational =/= emotional.

Most people who know me know that I am very emotional in everything I do. I am not, however, irrational.

The world would be much better if people were more emotional. It would also be better if people were less irrational.

I do not want to be "upgraded".

But yes, it would be nice if everyone understood them more, in themselves and others.
