Drinking a throwback soda with sugar cane sugar tastes so much better than that HFCS crap. Just thought you might like to know.

So what do you call soda in your neck of the woods?

"Real sugar", "Dehydrated cane extract", etc are just names for sucrose, which is a fructose molecule and a glucose molecule bonded together.

In the West of Scotland, we call soda ginger. That's Coke, Pepsi, 7UP, our local drink Irn Bru, any carbonated drink is called ginger.

I'm allergic to the preservatives used in diet drinks (sodium benzoate and related chemicals), so I have to take the sugary stuff, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Unfortunately, Irn Bru contains preservatives as well as sugar, no idea why.

I'd put money on it that diet sodas are worse for you than regular ones.

So would I. I think my body knows it too and that's why I'm allergic. Of all the allergies I could have had, this is probably the best.

I also prefer the Throwback sodas as well. They taste a lot better.

Sugar tastes like crap and is horrifically fattening, so no thanks.

Jones Soda is okay. I like their creme soda.

Although for some reason they scare people away with gimmick drinks. Like Thanksgiving Soda. Figure that one out.
