OK...Bjork, then. She's from Iceland. And I think she's about the only thing I know from there.

Lief Ericsson, discoverer of North America!
For being the oldest continuing democracy in the world!
(The who Bjork thing counts as a strike against them, though. She's sort of a young Yoko sans John...)

Iceland has an interesting language, which has been virtually unchanged for centuries. I find it intriguing that the language still uses the letters þ and ð. They add spice to the language, and indeed they used to exist in English, though haven't done so for a long time.

For roads, Iceland has a circular route round the country, Route 1. While the number 1 would suggest it's the country's main route, it is of varying standards from dual carriageway to gravel road, in keeping with the population density of the areas it passes through.

Bjork rules. It's rediculous to compare to Yoko, for one she, unlike Yoko, can sing well. Also Bjork's music videos are really interesting, and of course there's also how cute she is.

Probably the home of my ancestors who raped and pillaged my other ancestors in Scotland, giving me red hair.

Love Norse mythology (Tyr who gave up one of his hands to the Fenris Wolf is one of my sons favorites, also Loki being given a chinese water torture [but with poison instead of water] after cutting off Sif's hair just for a joke - Thor doesn't have a sense of humour).

Love watching the Viking games on rare occasions they get on TV here.

I heard the Vikings only took the best looking women on the long trip to
Iceland hence now the best looking women in the world are concentrated there.
