I've encountered Richard Thomas (aka John Boy from The Waltons) and Alex Chilton, and actually met Sherrill Milnes (an opera singer), Robin Pecknold (Fleet Foxes  ) and Mother Angelica (EWTN TV nun).

In case you wonder about the distinction between meeting and encountering, meeting is actually going up to the person and saying hi and talking to them. Encountering is just seeing them and not really speaking--like sitting behind them on a bus or something.

I have enough trouble recognising people who I know let alone recognising someone off the tele.

Yeah... I have had a photo with an ex-England football (soccer) player. I think he also had a spell of captaincy as well but can't remember if this is true or whether he was just captain with clubs. Also another semi-famous player who was also an ex-England football player at the same time.
Had a tiny bit of banter. Not much but it's okay.

Haha, I'm the same but maybe in a different sense. When I'm out, i tend to be more focused on where I'm going and the things around me opposed to the people. I remember when I was younger quite a few times people will have spotted me and I won't even had remembered seeing them.

They say if you touch someone, you touch everyone that person has ever been with.
You touched a lot of women, then.

i got to meet one of the members of the Backstreet Boys and hug him. It was Howie D. (for those that know who i'm talking about) i had gotten one of the security guards around him to try and take a picture, instead of snapping the picture she turned the camera off. i was so mad but i still got to hug him :D I had gone to see them in concert. they were at a theme park with a stage for concerts and the boys were roaming the park during the day riding rides. i a couple of girls, at one point, saw my t-shirt and told me about where Howie D was. me and my friend went racing that way. on the way my strap broke for my camera and it went tumbling across the pavement (but it was ment to withstand it. it's a Olympus Stylus Tough).

I met this frontman of one of my favourite local bands, and had the honour of getting to know his family.

Waaa.

I met Shirley Bassey once when I was little but I don't remember it.

I met some classical singers: Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfel, Aled Jones and Lesley Garrett. I also met Rolf Harris and Barry Humphries in the same place. Maybe I forgot someone...

I saw the Queen once going past in her car. There was a crowd though. :(

I met John Barrowman (Torchwood actor) a number of times.

I went to see Nigel Kennedy's concert (violin) but I didn't meet him. :( I love him! I might have forgotten some more. I've seen loads of classical music concerts and classical music related stuff.

My mum's friend is friends with Hugo Weaving, one of my favourite actors. I wish I could go meet him too.

I haven't, but my mom once worked at a night club (as a waitress) in Sun Valley and encountered some celebrities. She met Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Arnold Schwarzenegger. 8)

my little brother is one of the youngest to ever compete in a this type of red bull surfing tournement.
