What kind of salad dressing is healthy? Is it ok to eat caesar salad? Restaurant salads must be healthy right?

The contents of the salad are always healthy apart from the dressing.

salad only needs a little olive oil, no weird sauces.

I think the salad's at most restaurants are more fattening than their meat and potato-based dishes.

Basically, the more a salad looks and tastes like rabbit food, the "healthier" it is. If it has a lot of things that make it taste good, like chicken or bacon or creamy dressing or nuts or cheese or even croutons, it will make you fat. :(

Chicken is not fattening, cheese, croutons, nuts, seeds in reasonable quantities are not a problem either. The issue here is moderation.

Salad should never taste like "rabbit food", but unfortunately, many restaurants don't know how to prepare a proper salad and they serve some really horrible concoctions. And in many places, veggies have no taste - everybody who tasted a home-grown tomato knows what I'm talking about.

OP: a classic vinaigrette is the most non-fattening option. Just don't add sugar to it - a touch of honey is fine. Yoghurt based dressings are also fine, always use full-fat Greek (style), unsweetened yoghurt.

Also, if you want to "perk up" the taste of your salads, use small quantities of strongly tasting ingredients - aged cheese, smoked nuts, toasted sesame seeds, sundried tomatoes etc.

They are both fatting. Thosand Island is made of ketchup and mayonnaise. Blue cheese dressing is moldy cheese and idk. Seriously, the blue veins in blue cheese is mold.

A vinaigrette without any sugar is the healthiest option for a salad.

Any type of dressing without sugar is acceptable, but you shouldn't use a lot.

You can always find the nutritional information on a bottle. Look for salad dressings that have no sugar and few calories.
