Sometimes whenever I click on a link to another webpage, an additional window comes up. Its not too annoying about I was just wondering what it is.

There's nothing wrong with your computer. Certain links are supposed to do that.

If you're using Firefox go to Tools > Options > Tabs and make sure "open new windows in a new tab" is ticked.

It might be due to the settings for your mouse. Whether you have it so that a single click works to not only select but execute also or the frequency of clicking required for it to register a double click.

Edit: Blue Bean's advice would be correct if you don't want a secondary window per link. I interpreted your statement to mean that an additional window opens when you only wanted one. If you don't want a link to open in a new window, Blue Bean's route is correct.

No no no, thats not what I meant. I meant that an EXTRA page appeared IN ADDITION to the page that I intended to see.

Pop-up windows? There should be settings to block them in your browser, or you can download some kind of add-on.

I have both Ad Blocker and a pop up blocker that I use.
