I can't stop hiccupping. Anybody have a tried and true hiccup remedy?

Hold your breath for 10 seconds.

Try holding your breath for 10 seconds, then breathing slowly and deeply through your nose, mouth closed.

Swallow whilst holding your nose.

(Works best with a mouthful of water, rather than an empty swallow). I suspect this is something similar to the drinking from the wrong side of the glass method (but with less chance of spillage/ loss of dignity).

Wouldn't it be something if I still had them. Thanks for the suggestions.

It's not unheard of. One of my dad's collegues had them for a week. After a few days, he had to take time off work as he was in agony. Also, there was a documentary about a man who had them for several years and was severely diasabled by them. His docs didn't know what to do. He went to Japan for tests. On the first day, he had a brain scan and a small, treatable, benign tumour was found.

I usually down a spoon or two of sugar, hang upside down, and hold my breath for God knows how long. It's really hard for me to make 'em stop. xD

I usually gulp down a glass of juice, really quick. Then I burp. If the hiccups still haven't gone after drinking the juice, the hiccups make me burp, which always helps (although my mouth tastes of orange juice after the burp).
