Share something you learned today. It can be something you learned from experience or something you learned through other means (school, reading, etc)

Some people just can't be helped. They just try to use you for their own gain. :?

I've learned that some people that I've known for years are imposable to talk to.

I learned that I will probably survive culinary school with a little hard work and determination.

Even a small slip on the ice can bruise the coccyx badly.

The 'hedonistic calculus' was an algorithm developed to measure the amount of pleasure or gratification a given action is likely to yield (or conversely, not yield) based on a set of certain variables. They are:

"Intensity: How strong is the pleasure?
Duration: How long will the pleasure last?
Certainty or uncertainty: How likely or unlikely is it that the pleasure will occur?
Propinquity or remoteness: How soon will the pleasure occur?
Fecundity: The probability that the action will be followed by sensations of the same kind.
Purity: The probability that it will not be followed by sensations of the opposite kind.
Extent: How many people will be affected?"

Just look at all those big beautiful words! Also, what a fascinating concept. I came across the term when I was reading an introduction to neoclassical economics, and I got distracted subsequently researching it :)

I don't like the thought of sleeping. Such a huge waste of time. I need to sleep more often than I do now.

Eating 8 tins of baked beans in 3 days and nothing else causes toilet issues.
