I used to love doing crossword puzzles...though I am bad at them because i have a poor memory and am a worse speller.I also love Cryptograms and Sudoku....I can spend hours doing all of these...anyone else been lured into these kind of puzzles? It seems to be a sort of meditation which suspends time.

I do a crossword every day,but prefer the slightly easier ones as I get a sense of achievement when I finish them.I find a lot of the cryptic ones frustrating.
I couldn't understand Sudoku to begin with but then I got the hang of it and still tackle it now and again.

Sudoku is fun, although some of the puzzles can be pretty difficult. Tim, it's like a crossword puzzle but with numbers.

Rubix cube is also fun. I know someone who can solve one under 30 seconds! I wanted to try and didn't have a cube so I practiced on the internet with some painfully slow Java game versions for a while and got pretty good myself, although I still don't have a real cube yet.

I don't find crossword puzzles fun unless I know the vocabulary that is used for them. The ones in the newspaper are difficult for me to solve because I am not as familiar with the popular culture. The ones in English or Biology class were pretty easy though.

I have a sudoku calendar at work for my lunch-breaks. I used to suck unreservedly, but have now built up enough practice that I can often take a decent crack at even the most difficult puzzles without having to sneak a peek at the answers.

I used to like Sudoku, then I became obsessive about them so they are now banned from the house!

I'm not interested in Sudoku, number puzzles aren't my thing-words are. I used to enjoy cryptograms. Got into crosswords for many years, later finally learned how to do some of those cryptic ones-much tougher. I like word scrambles, too. Spelling & vocabulary are strengths that I don't get much practical use from, so I play with them instead.

I  doing sudokus.

It takes me on average to complete a sudoku between 20 minutes to 1 hour and a half depending on the difficulty.

I really like the puzzles that are like algebra in reverse, a number stands for a letter, and you have to find out which letter stands for which number. It's the only puzzles i have ever managed to complete as i have a short attention span.

I have never liked crosswords, the clues don't seem to make sense, they could be anything, and even when you have a word, there's no guarantee that it's right.

I have no intention of trying suduko, it's too much like maths.

For those who dont like or arnt great at math...Suduko isnt really math at all.It is logic and process of illimination.Honestly they are fun and I have never been good at math. You have rows down and rows across and boxes of 9 squares. There are nine numbers in each row and in each box of squares. You can only have 1 through 9 going down and across and in each box....well,it is difficult to explain but once you understand the concept it's easy to do.Start on the Easy ones that give you more start numbers to learn...it's really fun....I hate that people are missing out on this!! !!It such a soothing thing to do(admittedly it doesnt really teach you anything" useful"......but they are so fun.
