I love shopping at thrift stores. I'm more able to find clothes that I'd actually wear and there are other things that I can get for cheap.

I bought a brand-new Mario Lemieux jersey for about $5 at a thrift store. :D

On that note, in late 2006, I found a Dallas Stars jersey for $7! :D

I love thrift stores - as long as they don't smell bad and there's no babies screaming.
I don't like shopping in thrift stores with very narrow isles where people bump into you.
Our local Goodwill has been remodeled and has nice wide isles and is always very clean.

I think it's a bad idea to buy shoes there though, you can pick up a nasty fungus.
When I do give in and buy a pair of shoes, I spray them with Lysol when I get home.

No, I wouldn't wear secondhand shoes, I'm squeamish about that as well. And I've seen pairs of heels that look like they haven't been worn and I think they must have been worn once and given the owner such bad foot-ache they never did so again.

Same as underwear, bedwear or swimming togs, even though I could put them on a very hot wash and it would clean it properly, I still couldn't bear to.

The clothes are already soft, have already shrunk, and have that nice lived-in look that makes me feel comfortable.

The salespeople know you and aren't so likely to hurry you through.

I find memories of many happy days.

Unlike, say, WalMart, they are not guaranteed to be a sensory, agoraphobia-aggravating, meltdown-producing nightmare.

The money I spend goes back into my community to support needed services instead of enriching the Walton Trust on its way to China. I'm sure China's a wonderful place, but it makes sense to keep my assets close to my asset.

I shop thrift stores and farm markets regularly and have actually almost got it down to where I only have to make quarterly trips to the big-box stores. 8)

The sweaters I get there are pretty nice priced- many of them under $5. They are soo comfy.

I've been increasingly buying $5 dresses over the last few months. I'm planning to wear one this week to my work Christmas party :D

I have this need to hit up many area thrift stores; each one is different, you never know what gems you will come across!

My husband bough a nice digital clock at the Goodwill. I also found a Game Boy Color there for $12.99. I also found a stack of storage bins for $6.99 to store my game controllers in and all.
