It sounds like you have as much fun as I do coating those flies with a layer of lacquer and encasing them.

Howbout sticking live ones in the microwave?

The way their bodies stiffen when the hairspray starts to work cracks me up.

Cockroachs won't die in a microwave,no,I didn't put it in there,it was already in there at someone else's place.I don't know about a fly,if I was going to kill one I'd agree with OliveOilMom,an old fashioned fly-swatter.

If it works let us know. I seen an ant in my microwave when I put some food in their to warm up. Dang, didn't even phase the ant.

I used to fry them with an electrical fly swatter, that is untill it broke.
Guess I've always been a sadist.

Just kidding. I use a fly swatter or a book.

An old belt as a whip or a knife. For spiders difficult to reach or in a place where the mess is ok a slingshot with a grape (no ricochet) for ammo.

I generally just herd them into a holding yard along curved walkways and then into a neck clamp. From there a rest rises under them to support their body weight. They are stunned with a ten amp prod against the temples and a captured bolt gun fired slightly rear of between the eyes ends them. The carcase then travels along,,,,,,

Naw, jus jokin. Blow flies, the maggot laying type are enticed out by darkening the room and making the brightest point an open door or window. They go into the light to their freedom.
The small sticky ones aren't usually that driven and if they can't be persuaded out they are sprayed or news papered.

You have to creep up on it while it's on a wide enough flat surface (eg. a wall) with a narrow soft-cover book and smack it suddenly as hard as you can. Standard-size notebooks that have cardboard covers and are medium thickness are the best for this.

Dont knonw about the summersault - but I have heard that they jump backwards a little before taking off.

So- instead of aiming AT the fly- or a little in front of the fly ( like you would throw a football to a running person), you aim a little BEHIND them when you swat them.

Have tried it and it does seem to work.

AND..dont EVER get between a mother fly and her maggots!

Why does the world hate flies?
Is it because we can fly and you can't?

the best way for me to kill a fly is to start telling it a story i made up.
