I thoroughly enjoy vinegar. :P It's about the only thing I'll use as a "dressing" for salad, and most of my favorite foods include it in one way or another. (Hot sauce, pickles, etc.) I don't think I'd enjoy drinking it though. :nerdy:

I've read that vinegar is good for digestion, but can be corrosive to tooth enamel, so you should brush afterwards.

I have to calm down a bit on vinegar because the skin on the inside of my mouth starts peeling off, somewhat like I got sunburn on the inside of my mouth. My stomach has taken a pounding over the years as well. I had an ulcer once and was sent off to a dietician who said I needed my taste buds reset.
Drebi, I love chillis and hot sauces and eat way more of those than I consume vinegar (these days). Seems like the hot sauces and chillis don't have the adverse effects on my gastric system though.

Hey Tallyman, I am wondering about why the thread has been moved to Random? In the back of my mind I am wondering whether cravings for certain types of substance/food are part of the aspie retinue of traits. I have wondered for a long time why I crave vinegar. The purpose of the thread (for me at least) is to sound out whether others have similar cravings and whether it is an aspie thing

Nevertheless, Random it is and so it shall be, :D

I flavor with it. Oh, and did I say it has a bunch of other uses? :D

I like putting vinegar on fish and chips and I also like salt and vinegar flavoured chips.

On a fish platter I love Malt Vinegar.

I will usually use a little if it's on a salad bar.

Regarding tastes in general, I am also an avid fan of Tapatio hot sauce. My breakfast is not complete unless I have Tapatio or Sriracha sauce on my eggs.

Yes... I found when I was a little kid, that I like the "bite" of vinegar as I take a drink of it. I had to lay off it when I was in my 20s, because my teeth were being badly damaged by it (according to my dentist at the time). I don't know now if it was the vinegar, or if it was just genetics. I have nearly all fake teeth now, as the damage didn't stop happening when I stopped the vinegar, so I don't know if I'm wise to try it again. My teeth are porcelain and titanium, so I don't think vinegar would attack them like it does natural teeth.

Sounds like a British thing. I will admit vinegar on french fries tastes good though.
