This is a spin on one thread posted on this forum. I want to know, what makes peoplw play tricks? This is because I am a little confused by the fact that as much as we have problems socially interacting, we as people with AS try to interact and there is a reason why we say what we do.

Does anyone know why this is?

I've wondered the same thing. Why the tricks and games? I've come to the conclusion that it helps little minds feel less inferior. It does help explain why the World seems to be is such a sad state. The majority of the population is busy playing games and trying to get over on each other, i.e. fiddling while the Planet burns.

People assume too much, this can have amusing consequences.

I don't play tricks on people, just the racoons in the yard when they get into my trash.
Last one I did was when I was out on the balcony one night last week having a smoke. We had a pitcher on the balcony that'd gotten filled up with rainwater... looked down, saw those furry little bastards making a beeline for my trash and dumped the water on them and then moved back so they couldn't see me. Peeked back over and almost pissed myself laughing at the sight of 3 racoons whirling around, furiously trying to figure out where this dump of water came from.
That or I'll put some smelly food in containers, then duct-tape them shut with 5 layers of tape, just to see how long it takes them to get through it.. or give up. They're tenacious little buggers.

Immaturity, selfishness, lack of perspective?

Why did you say you didn't play tricks when you really did, what makes you think it's animals that make you play tricks and what made you think that we have immaturity, selfishness or a lack of perspective?

We are nice people. We just have an inability to socially interact.

What makes you think all that?

I think it's a mixture of insecurity and boredom.
