There are a lot of examples of very black and white thinking on these boards. Ever read the PPR forum? I would argue that the strong need for routine and for things to be a certain way that many autistic people have could be considered an example of black and white thinking. Also: anxiety disorders of various types (including OCD) and depression are easily the most common mental illnesses and they both often have a strong component of black and white thinking. A lot of autistic people also have those conditions. To say that "sociopaths are the main ones that think in extreme(black/white) terms" is inaccurate. I also think it was an ill conceived statement because I suspect that the following quote does not represent the only person who had that reaction to your statement:
I'm pretty sure thinking in extreme terms isn't required for an autistic diagnosis like it is for an ASPD diagnosis though. The OP seemed to be implying that everybody on WP thinks that way which isn't true obviously. I told him sociopaths are the
main ones that think in extreme terms but not the only ones.
It's funny how you and noxnocturne perceived what I said in extreme terms though.
