I don't get this. And I am not singling anyone out on these forums, because I see it occuring in many places around the internet.

Why do people leave their 'signature' at the end of posts?

There's an automatic signature thing for all users. Why in the name of all that is holy would someone type one from scratch during every post they make? Is it some sort of superiority complex?

I am not being rude. I honestly don't understand. Explain.

Individuality. So one can be recognized by their interests or a quote they like.

I'm not talking about the normal sigs.

I'm talking about:

leaving your username at the END OF POSTS.

It seems rather redundant, and therefore, inefficient, but this habit may be attributed to the fact that this happens when writing letters. At the end of a letter or a note (or usually, an e-mail), it is customary to sign or write one's name at the bottom.

As for my signature, it is usually a good quote (or two, depending on the site) that fits with my personality. The only time I put my username at the bottom of my posts is when I'm moderating at the forum that I moderate and administrate for. Or occasionally I will do it elsewhere when it is more of a letter (in tone) or if it is something really sincere... or to a small group of members. It really just depends.

my answer is a question: "Why the hell not?" Are there rules on how one is to write .. is this an english test? .. is this a test? .. is it the symptom "intolerance" .. that drives you to be driven so up the wall by an Aspie eccentricity ?? (just cuz you see something on the net more than once - doesn't mean it isn't other Aspies!! ... according to stats - we are 1 in anywhere from 150 to 1 in 250 .. so i would think you can expect to see more crap that annoys the hell out of you!) .. i am growing more use to being annoyed at what people do .. its just another symptom.
