As of right now, I just want to expand my collection of vampire stuff, esp. books and movies (except for Twilight... not my cuppa tea)
YES! I hate Twilight!
I tried to like Twilight, but it was poorly-written. And the characters... They don't do vampires justice. What kind of vampire sparkles in sunlight? And the whole "vegetarian vampire" thing is ridiculous. I mean, I know in Interview With The Vampire that Louis fed off animals for a little while, but at least he eventually came around and started feeding off people like a true vampire should.
See, I like vampire movies/books/etc. where the vampires are brutal and vicious, yet still have the capacity to care for others. Alucard and Lestat are great examples of what I feel are "perfect" vampires in this regard. But I don't like Count Orlok in Nosferatu, because he's too animalistic. I dislike Edward Cullen for the opposite reason - he's too soft. There can't be too much of one trait and not enough of the other.
