If this attributed to anyone, how do I go about declaring it "Lister's Law"?

Do you means something like "The squeaky wheel gats the grease"?

Or maybe "Empty heads rattle loudest"?

Or maybe...

Sounds like 'Let he who shouts the loudest be heard first' mentality

I guess someone named "Lister" said it.

Definitely has some truth to it.

A couple of years ago here on WP you would have thought that the majority of WP members were Flat Earthers who believed in the Mandella effect because the microscopically tiny single digit number minority who did think that way made the most posts on the two topics.

I have known some pretty loud "moderates" in my time.

Lyndon Johnson was an absolute loudmouth----but he really didn't have extreme views.

I just stumbled upon a site called "Brainy quotes" that does list a guy named "Joseph Lister", and exactly two of his quotable quotes. But neither quotable quote of his even resembles the one you're looking for.{shrug}

The only Lister I know of is Dave Lister from Red Dwarf and his quotes are like this

“‘Mr Arnold’ isn’t his name. His name’s Rimmer, or ‘smeghead’, or ‘dinosaur-breath’, or ‘molecule-mind’, or on rare occasions when you want to be really mega-polite to him – and we’re talking mega polite here – on those exceptional circumstances you can call him ‘a**ehole’.”

Dr. Joseph Lister is long dead. He is known as the father of antiseptics. Listerine was named after him.

Btw, I do believe in the Mandela Effect; meaning the observed and documented phenomenon of large numbers of people all misremembering events in the same way, not the pseudoscientific explanations for it.

You believe that large numbers of folks misremember stuff the same way, but you don't believe that we are going off the rails into a parallel universe (because of the Cern collider, or whatever)?

If that's what you mean by the "Mandela Effect" then I would say that that is almost self evident. Folks expect a name to end in "stein" rather than in "stain" so yes...millions will assume it was the "Berenstein Bears" and not "the Berenstain Bears" because they never read it carefully.

The phenom happens, but for mundane reasons.
