Head hair that goes all the way down your neck

When I was getting electrolysis (facial hair removal) done, the electrologist remarked that the hair starting at the sides of my neck and going up to my ear was of a texture much more similar to my head hair than my facial hair. It was like the head hair grew down to my neck.

Has anyone else noticed this?
