Funny, the roads of Pyongyang look to be in better condition than most of the roads in America. They look to have a top notch pot-hole repair division.

My honest view is that the flow of half truths and misinformation between the DPRK and the west is a two lane road. Most of the videos that the DPRK government are willing to release are a smoke and mirrors facade to make foreigners believe it is less dependent on aid than it really is. The quality of the roads in this video are probably not representative of those beyond Pongyang. Go farther out into the countryside its unlikely that the quality of roads will be quite so consistent.Not that it means the DPRK is automatically the hell on Earth that its most vocal opponents wants us to believe. There are countries with free markets that are faring much worse on both the average social efficacy and human rights fronts but the critics of North Korea remain strangely silent on these.

I suspect that the lion's share of the flack that North Korea recieves is more to do with it being a geo-political thorn in the foot of the United States much more than how they treat their own people.

Why?

It's a travelog video; nothing more than a 22 minute tour of Pyongyang as filmed from a dashboard-mounted camera in a car with no commentary whatever.
The only comment the OP makes is to note the good condition of the roads.
