he passed Saturday night [july 19, 2014] at age 86. he was a class act.

that means all the [bum]garner [his birthname] brothers have passed into the great repertory company beyond. his older brother jack garner died in 2011.

I just read that james garner smoked pot for most of his 86 years! in fact he said that in his considered opinion, that pot should be legal but alcohol should be banned. :o

I totally loved him, AuntBlabby----good actor, plus, very good-looking----I've been watching "The Rockford Files" everyday since I heard the news!! I don't think, maybe, there's enough older posters on this forum, like what's on the Games Forum, and others.

yes, that is a good point, the ol' generation gap manifesting itself. but he kept current, providing voiceovers for things that young people pay attention to. he worked right up until the end.
