I knew of 2 elderflower trees, one in the park, the other on a road not far from it. I went to the road first but the tree didn't seem to be there any more. I remembered something about a friend seeing the council works department going along that road and very likely they'd removed it. I was fairly sure I'd be able to find the tree in the park.

I went into work looking for paper bags for collecting the elderflowers, which I found, one bag being good and large but the other being rather small and so not of much use. I also wanted some metal parts of some kind. I found an angle-type high speed centrifuge rotor with little screw-in disc-shaped things that were somehow attached to it where the holes for the centrifuge tubes were (which would be quite impossible in reality as there would have been nowhere for the screw holes to go), and I chopped one off with a pair of clippers that I normally used for electronics. I hadn't meant to cut through it, I was just trying the pincers for size or something, and now I couldn't put the little disc thing back. Fearing that somebody would find out what I'd done, I tried to rearrange the remaining disc things to make them symmetrical so that the rotor could be used again without going out of balance and nobody would notice the damage, but it was impossible, so I decided to put the disc thing into my pocket rather than leave it around, because that would make it more obvious what had happened. I remember chatting to a man I used to work with on my way out, while I was in the main laboratory, and not worrying about the fact that he could see the paper bags I was taking, because it was accepted practice for staff to take a few cheap consumables occasionally.

A female member of staff and I had to find out the name and a few details of a female hospital patient who was in a bed in a room. We were having a bit of trouble finding her name from the instrument display panels around her bed and the paperwork nearby, but we seemed to be making some headway. We were supposed to be reporting the information back to some supervising woman and we were already late and in some fear of the consequences of failure.

[I don't know the order in which I had those 3 sections of the dream, or whether it was actually all one dream or separate dreams, but I gather that we forget dreams fairly quickly after they've happened if we don't wake up immediately afterwards and recall them, and I recalled all the above in one go after I'd woken this morning, and that's the only time I remember waking and recalling anything, so I guess it was all one dream with several somewhat unrelated sections to it]

There was a breaking news report of a nuclear alert siren going off in Yorkshire so I was preparing my daughter to stay low in the flat because the windows could get blown in

I dreamt that I was on my last day in the army, and somebody took my sergeant's uniform class A jacket out of my locker. I went to the company building and found it on a rack in the company sergeant's area, but before I could get to it some civil service employee wheeled it away, telling me I was too late. I went back to the barracks, gathered up what I could out of my wall locker and schlepped it into the trunk of my luxury car [a Cadillac sedan de ville or something similar] and drove away.

S'ok BB,
I'm remembering it for you.
(Sorry for the in-dream paraphrasing...there's some guesswork involved)

GMT + 10
It's after dinner time, but I'm still in the recovery ward so I haven't eaten since dinner yesterday.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep for the next 4 days, so dreaming will have to wait.

I had a dream Monday that was really strange.

I was in some kind of huge building in the distant future applying for a job.

Starting from a huge building that I had a small apartment in, I was directed by computers in everything I did. The computer decided when I needed to wake up and the walls made a chime sound to wake me up. When I woke up, it directed me to go to the bathroom and take a shower. It directed me which clothes to put on. It also directed my breakfast based on what I liked (or was indoctrinated to like).

When it was time to leave for the job interview, it led me down the halls and elevators to the front door of the building. The path was based on my speed and on the time so that I arrived at the curb at exactly the time that a computer directed car picked up to pick me up. I got in and the car took a route to deliver me to the destination building precisely on time. I was then led by lights and high directional sounds and signals displayed on the floor ahead of me to arrive at the destination and I waked in precisely in time for the interview. Arriving even fifteen seconds early or late would have have been disqualifying.

The interview didn't really amount to much since the computers already knew everything about me. It predictably ended precisely at the time the computers said it should end and I left the office, again being directed by computers.

From there I went to a large cafeteria that served the building. The place was busy, but everyone was directed in such a way that there was no wasted movement and nobody ever had to wait for someone else to cross their path. The computer took care of all path planning. It also placed my order for me before I even knew I was being led to the cafeteria. Upon arrival, the computers led me to a seat at a table (being by myself, I was seated at a table with others based on the computer goal of maximizing usage and the food was delivered seconds after I sat down. I ate at a computer controlled pace with no interaction with others at the table other than a simple and polite nod. Seconds after I got up, the plates were taken, another diner was seated, and his food was put on the table in front of him.

It was clear that the entire day was like that with everything being scripted by unseen computers.

I think that I finally understand being a "cog in a machine".

All I can remember about a dream I had last night is a voice that said "Even my mother says he's guilty." :? It was very vivid as I woke up.

I had a dream this morning in which I was back in grad school and getting ready to move to a new apartment.

I had everything boxed up. That included boxes and boxes of books (many of which I bought well after grad school).

I didn't want to move them all so I decided to go through them and throw away those I would probably not need again. So I carried out boxes and boxes of books for the dumpsters.

Then I decided that I would rather move them so I started bringing them back in. Apparently I must have inspired many others to carry their books out to the dumpsters because I ended up with far more books than when I started.

I had a very odd dream this morning.

The first three fourths of the dream are lost to me. It had something to do with some kind of dispute on the part of someone else (a local ranch family who I respect highly) that made little sense.

Then there was a lawsuit. The night before the trial, the lawyers told me that it was a slam dunk and that I was responsible for the exhibits even though I was never told what exhibits they were talking about. I spent the entire night making electronic copies of the documents that I expected to be needed and fell asleep out of exhaustion before the trial began and woke up in the early afternoon. I gave the lawyers the exhibits and they told me that they couldn't use them at all because I did them wrong. Not only that, the lawyers were mad at me because I was supposed to be the main witness in the trial and I didn't show up. Because I had been unavailable and because they had no exhibits, the lawsuit ended up being dismissed with prejudice and cost the ranch family tens of millions of dollars.

When I woke up, it took a good ten to fifteen minutes for me to realize that there was nothing true about the dream at all.
