So much so that I locked the car and almost walked away from the car when it was still turned on. That's power button is messing me up.

you made me curious! in portugal i found Nazaré, Nadadouro, and Nadrupe. though it's weird if they're rarer than "usual".

^ Fair enough, but in all my investigations, these three places are described as villages or parishes. Population of Nadadouro apparently 1,904.

Today, I learnt that fandom's first history was written and published by Jack Speer in 1939. Link

These two I already knew. But the next ones were interesting to me:

22 yards = 1 chain
10 chains = 1 furlong
8 furlongs = 1 mile

(Not "approximately equal" but "equal", for all of them.)

Therefore, 1 mile = 8 furlongs = 80 chains = 1760 yards.

Pointless, but still pretty interesting.

I just read that spider-fighting is a popular if not very humane pastime in Florida prisons. The inmates catch and keep them as pets. I also read that three inmates got into a nasty fight over the theft of a beloved arachnid.
