if it were up to you? I'd want to be born a hundred years from now because by then they'd have the cure for cancer and old age. cars would drive themselves, which would cut down on cars accident a lot. suffering from general anxiety, I worry about family members involved in accidents. all kinds of cool stuff would be available, like movies in which you wear special glasses and can touch and smell and be in the movies, tiny electric wires that will kill insects in your house, robots that sweep, mop, cook, etc. genetically engineered animals, maybe tiny dinosaurs.

when would you like to have been born, past, present, future, how far into the past/future? why?

In a post-post-apocalyptic world; when the Apocalypse has ended, human civilization has recovered, and present-day history is fragmented and mythical.

And where I alone retain any real memory of pre-Apocalyptic Earth and its technology.

Some billion years into the future. Might be on the right planet. I just want to see how things are that far in the future. I want to see what kind of food is available then. I also want to see the end of this planet (Earth) from somewhere else.

A few centuries in the future because there may be a cure for my vision disorder then & better treatments or cures for my tremor disorder.

Canada, or any commonwealth nation in fact, in the later 50s.

I was born in 1990 and it was wonderful growing up in the 90's and early 2000's. The millennium was exciting at the time, and being a kid was better because I didn't feel obliged to have to go out to night clubs to celebrate, and we just had a lovely new year's party at my grandmother's as a whole family, including my cousins who were also around the same age as me. So that was fun and memorable.

I don't like to wish to be born at any other time other than the 90's really, but if I did have one other option I think I would choose the 30's. Yes, there was the second world war going on, but most elderly people I have spoken to say that the war was so different seen through a child's eyes. But I would rather not have lived during the war. But otherwise, growing up back then must have been great. Kids played on the road and there was hardly no traffic. People were less snobby and greedy back then, and the neighbours looked out for each other more. Kids were brought up good and weren't mollycoddled like they are now. They were disciplined properly at school, and I know getting whipped wasn't very nice but it made kids straighten up and concentrate, and they were taught to speak with respect to their elders. Teenagers matured faster because a lot done work like potato-picking, and they seemed more motivated. Kids were happy playing with a cardboard box if that was all they had, whereas some kids these days can't cope when they have their Xbox taken away or something. Also families were closer, and would do activities together sometimes, like stand around the piano and sing.
And then being a adult in the 50's and 60's was probably better than it is now. I suppose I can't say why because it will cause controversy here, as so many people get offended when you are just displaying facts. See, that's another thing - you have to be so careful what you say these days.
