What's with all the cats on this website? Seems there are a lot of cat avatars, and lots of people that don't just like cats, but are infatuated with them. Is there some cat-whisperer form of autism that hasn't been diagnosed yet or what? For the record I have nothing against cats, it just seems like the subject is very over represented here (both in pics and discussion) compared to other forums. I just want to understand.

I like cats. But I never use a cat(s) picture as an avatar. Also, in real life I'm a bit allergic to cats.

There aren't enough cats on this website.

I believe that all cats are partly autistic, so it makes sense that autistic people fit with cats and vice versa. Cats are great at making terrible decisions that end up with hilarious results (or just being silly) as you can see in many pictures (makes me laugh and I relate to the bad decision making). I think that people here can identify with cats, but also because of their love of cats.

But otherwise they are great companions; they make me laugh every day and you know when a cat loves you it is because you deserve it

I think cats have a much easier body language than humans once you figure it out. Then you can communicate with all cats in the world.

I think ASDers are animal lovers, in GENERAL (maybe because animals are so NON-judgmental)----but specifically, CAT lovers, maybe, because cats are so aloof. Also, it might be because cats are less "needy" than, say, dogs.

I adore cats!! !

I also love dogs, horses, fish, birds, llamas, and definitely goats. And I think it's true that cats are over-represented. Certainly there are not enough goats here.
